AU Hosts its 2022 Health Day Event

As part of its continued commitment to corporate social responsibility, the Australian University (AU) hosted a Health Day event under the theme of “Healthy Living Lifestyle” in order to embrace its determination towards a healthier future by promoting healthy lifestyle choices for its students, staff, their families, and the Kuwaiti community as a whole.

The Health Day event organized by the Health and Safety Department at AU featured stage shows, talent competitions, and games, along with various booths and activities organized by students from the AU College of Business in order to provide them with practical experience in event management area. The event also hosted various speakers to give talks during the event to further strengthen attendees’ cognizance of leading a healthier lifestyle.

Ms. Mariam Al Maraghi, Manager of Health and Safety at AU, commented on the event noting that as COVID-19 has affected the health and wellbeing of the community for nearly two years, the university had to do its part to bring its community together to shed light on how to move forward and grow healthier and stronger from the pandemic.

Elaborating further on the goals of the event, Ms. Mariam Al Maraghi said: “The World Health Organization defines health as a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. The Australian University holds this definition to be its benchmark in promoting a positive health culture for its community.”

Overall, the event was a success, with proceeds from the ticket sales, which totaled to 1,350 KD, were donated to Cancer Aware Nation (CAN).
