The Australian University (AU) joint force with Ministry of Interior (MOI) traffic department led by General Ibrahim Jallal, accompanied by Dr. Mishal Al Hadhoud, Major Engineer Ali Bourabih, and Colonel Legal Mohammad Al Ajmi, in addition to many members from the traffic department to host and organize an awareness event about road safety and traffic violations entitled: “Your Life is a Trust”.
The awareness lecture hosted on campus attended by large number of staff and students, highlighted many essential topics related to traffic violating rules and recent 6th generation CCTV monitoring cameras placed on highways. Also, the lecture touched upon several important common traffic violations, traffic injuries resulting from inattention and non-compliance with traffic laws along with their impact on the lives of individuals.
Further, included throughout the lecture a collection of questions, related to traffic mechanisms to familiarize the university’s students and employees with the systems and their role in regulating traffic, winners received multiple prizes offered by MOI.
Commenting on the success of the event, Mr. Abdulmohsen Al Refai, Senior Manager of the Department of Health, Safety and Security at AU, highlighted the importance of organizing such events and noted their role in educating the community, and students as they are the most common category affected by traffic accidents, as well as the importance of instilling these concepts to them to help them avoid traffic injuries.
