The Australian University (AU) proudly hosted the prestigious 8th National Debate Championship for universities, bringing together 20 teams from public and private universities across Kuwait.
Demonstrating their skill and dedication, AU’s debate team advanced to the quarterfinals and semifinals, ultimately achieving an impressive fourth-place ranking. Aya Al Sarraf, one of AU’s standout students, was honored as the fifth-best speaker in Kuwait, a testament to her exceptional public speaking and critical thinking abilities.
Commenting on the Championship, Mr. Hussain Al Haddad, Manager of Student Affairs at AU, said: “AU is extremely proud to host tournaments and events that aim to develop young talents. We are delighted to have achieved fourth place out of 20 participating teams, and we congratulate all the students for the outstanding performances they showcased throughout the championship.”
From her end, Ms. Rola Al Mourdaa, Manager of the Teaching and Learning Center at AU, added: “We thank the National Debate team and the Youth Public Authority for entrusting the Australian University to host such important event at national level and we believe our collaboration was fruitful and we look forward, based on our social responsibility, to participate in similar events to empower our youth to best serve Kuwait Vision 2035.”
