AU Hosted the 19th International Strategic Management Conference

The Australian University (AU) proudly hosted the 19th International Strategic Management Conference, a global forum exploring Industry 5.0’s potential to create human-centric, sustainable, and resilient organizations. Organized in collaboration with Turkey’s Gebze Technical University and Yildiz Technical University, drawing experts, researchers, and policymakers from around the world to AU’s campus.

The event kicked off with remarks from Associate Prof. Mehtap Özşahin, Chair of the conference, and Dr. Farid Abdallah, Dean of AU’s College of Business. Keynote speakers included Prof. Isam Zabalawi, President of AU, and Prof. Lütfihak Alpkan, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security in Turkey, each bringing unique insights into the transformative possibilities of Industry 5.0.

The conference featured a wide range of discussions on topics such as digital transformation, AI-driven sustainability, and the strategic use of data in organizational practices. During the final session Prof. Alper Erturk, Co-Chair of the 19th International Strategic Management Conference, delivered the closing speech, followed by the exchange of tokens of appreciation between the participating universities.

The closing session also included a Post-doctoral Colloquium showcasing research on exoskeletons, digital maturity in municipalities, and online banking adoption, with Prof. Erol Eren Best Paper Award being, presented to two outstanding studies conducted by Dr. Mohammad Farjood and Prof. Bora Yildiz respectively.
