AU celebrates the inauguration of AUB’s Bank Simulation Branch on Campus

As part of the longstanding agreement and collaboration between the Australian University (AU) and the Ahli United Bank (AUB), AUB initiated a simulation branch at the AU campus to give College of Business students the opportunity to get hands-on experience in all banking- related operations.

In February 2022, a memorandum of understanding was signed between AU & AUB, which included the inauguration of the AUB simulation branch including needed hardware, software, and furniture to form a fully functional simulation branch. Selected AU faculty were trained on the use of the customer service and ticketing systems, where they will utilize the branch to train students on service management and customer relationship management. Other software related to banking, finance and HR will be supplied by AUB upon the commencement of the new majors at AU.

The addition of the simulation branch and banking software to the AU campus will enhance the practical learning experience of AU students in the prospective new majors of Banking and Finance, Accounting and MIS.

Commenting on this new addition to the campus, Dr. Farid Abdallah, Acting Dean of the College of Business, said: “The AUB simulation branch is an excellent tool for our students to have a practical feel of the work environment and the use of software in an industry-based setting, thus enhancing their confidence, skills, and technical abilities. It is an innovative approach to student learning, reflecting both AU’s vision of utilizing effective and advanced learning methods, and the benefits of cooperating with industry for the benefit of all stakeholders.”
