On Monday March 28, students from the mechanical engineering program visited Al Qatami Steel Company. The purpose of the visit was to show students an actual steel forming factory. This included machinery and, the steps involved in forming steel sheets into tubes along with pipes using an incremental forming technique. Students also observed the following manufacturing processes; unspooling and straightening, cutting and re-spooling, feeding the forming line, forming and welding. The visit to Al Qatami Steel was a great opportunity for students to see how steel tubes products are manufactured.
