On Wednesday, October 2nd, AU successfully hosted its Annual Staff Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. The event brought together staff members for an evening of celebration, camaraderie and recognition of their remarkable contributions over the last past years.
The highlight of the evening was the marking of AU’s 20th anniversary of the establishment. On this occasion Prof. Isam Zabalawi, President of AU, delivered a speech reflecting on the university’s two decades of growth, emphasizing its robust culture of care and commitment to excellence. Prof. Zabalawi further shared AU’s vision for the future, including its plans for new majors and how the university plans to move forward in all its aspects. In addition, the evening featured staff recognition awards, presented by Teaching and Learning Center, as a token of recognition to faculty members who have gone above and beyond in their roles. They were honored for their outstanding dedication, and positive impact on the organization.
The dinner also featured social activities, entertainment, and team-building activities, which created a lively atmosphere for staff to relax and engage outside the workplace. The annual tradition reflects AU’s commitment to nurturing a supportive community and honoring the efforts that drive the university’s growth and success.
Commenting on the value of the event, Ms. Dalal Dawwas, Senior Manager of Employee Relations, said: “The Australian University Staff Annual dinner serves as a basis for cultivating a strong, inclusive culture by bringing staff together to build meaningful connections, rapport, and foster collaboration.
